Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service
- Resolve claim denials and manage appeals efficiently
- Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation
- Conduct regular account reconciliations and audits
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure coding accuracy
- Stay updated on HIPAA compliance and billing regulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience required
- Certification in medical billing (CPC, CPC-A, or similar) preferred
- Proficiency in Epic EHR or similar practice management software
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
