Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits eligibility
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through follow-up appeals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and AR metrics
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation
- Utilize EHR/EMR systems for charge entry and account management
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficient in Medisoft, Epic, or similar healthcare billing software
- Strong analytical skills for identifying billing trends and errors
- Exceptional communication skills for payer negotiations
- Experience with electronic claim submission and 837 files
- Ability to manage high-volume accounts in a fast-paced environment
