Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care and assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary restrictions and nutritional needs.
- Document patient care activities, changes in condition, and daily progress accurately in electronic health records.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary living environment for all residents.
- Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic exercises to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required, valid in the state of North Carolina.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Ability to lift and move patients safely, including assisting with transfers (up to 50 lbs).
- Previous experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or home health setting is highly preferred.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow strict medical protocols and safety guidelines.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
