Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Provide exceptional patient education on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict patient confidentiality protocols
- Operate pharmacy software efficiently (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Collaborate with healthcare providers for prescription verification
Qualifications
- Current Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical terminology
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail with zero-error medication handling
- Flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays
