Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages per physician orders
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and assist patients with medication coverage inquiries
- Maintain sterile compounding areas and adhere to strict safety protocols
- Provide exceptional patient education on medication usage and potential side effects
- Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve prescription discrepancies and ensure compliance
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell) for efficient workflow management
Qualifications
- Current Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA compliance and pharmacy regulations
