Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient conditions, and report changes to nursing staff
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent pressure injuries
- Maintain clean, sanitized patient environments and infection control protocols
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Support patient emotional well-being through active listening and communication
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure holistic patient needs
Qualifications
- Active New York State CNA certification required
- Minimum 1 year acute care hospital experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication skills and compassionate patient interaction abilities
- Proficiency in EHR documentation systems
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid NYS driver's license (if transporting patients)
