Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in emergency settings including trauma, cardiac, and pediatric cases
- Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and interpret diagnostic results
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Utilize advanced monitoring equipment and maintain accurate medical documentation
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and emergency drills
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO, OSHA, and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license or compact state eligibility
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required (ADN candidates with 5+ years ED experience considered)
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience with 1 year ED preferred
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Proficiency in Epic EMR system
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Spanish bilingualism highly preferred
