Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently according to state and federal regulations.
- Verify patient information and medication orders to ensure safety and compliance.
- Prepare prescription labels and package medications for customer pickup.
- Process insurance claims and handle financial transactions at the pharmacy counter.
- Maintain inventory records and assist with restocking pharmacy shelves.
- Assist pharmacists with compounding medications and answering patient inquiries.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA privacy standards and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy management software and systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance and medication safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
