Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications to patients and healthcare providers according to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and package prescription labels, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Verify patient information and insurance details to ensure billing accuracy.
- Assist pharmacists in preparing intravenous medications and sterile products.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment to ensure safety and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding prescription questions and medication instructions.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not required for high performers.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of pharmacy management software.
