Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately for patients and ensure proper labeling.
- Verify physician orders and check for potential drug interactions or allergies.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and managing expiration dates.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about medications and insurance procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment compliant with all regulatory standards.
- Process cash transactions and handle insurance claims and reimbursement paperwork efficiently.
- Assist the lead pharmacist with special orders and medication preparation.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting is a plus.
