Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and label specimens accurately with proper documentation
- Maintain clean, organized workstations and equipment calibration
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during specimen collection
- Collaborate with laboratory staff for efficient sample processing
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality
- Train new staff on phlebotomy protocols and best practices
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture
- Strong knowledge of infection control procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Valid CPR certification
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must pass background check and drug screening
