Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for post-surgical and acutely ill patients
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precision
- Monitor patient vitals and interpret diagnostic data to anticipate complications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment protocols and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Respond rapidly to emergency situations with advanced life support skills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois (or compact state)
- BSN degree required (ADN candidates with 2+ years ICU experience considered)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- Minimum 2 years ICU or telemetry experience
- Proficiency in Epic EHR system
- Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
