Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments according to procedure protocols
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout all surgical procedures
- Account for and manage surgical counts of sponges, needles, and instruments
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms with pre-operative care
- Clean and sterilize equipment post-procedure while maintaining inventory of surgical supplies
- Document all surgical activities and equipment usage per hospital standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hospital OR setting
- Proficiency in sterile processing and instrument handling
- Knowledge of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Pennsylvania Surgical Tech license (or ability to obtain immediately)
