Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions and determine acuity level using standardized triage protocols
- Coordinate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to prioritize patient care
- Document assessments and care plans accurately in electronic health records
- Provide patient education on treatment processes and home care instructions
- Maintain efficient patient flow in high-volume emergency settings
- Collaborate with social services and discharge planning teams
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license with unrestricted status
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Spanish bilingual skills preferred for diverse patient population
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during high-acuity situations
