Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency cases based on severity
- Obtain accurate medical histories and vital signs upon patient arrival
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely interventions
- Document patient assessments and triage decisions in electronic health records
- Provide clear communication to patients and families during emergency situations
- Maintain compliance with Joint Commission and emergency protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Texas RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or triage experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stress environments
