As a Triage Nurse, you'll be the first point of contact for patients experiencing medical emergencies, making critical decisions that directly impact patient outcomes. Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical history to determine urgency of care
- Provide accurate triage protocols for emergency and non-emergency cases
- Coordinate with physicians and specialists to ensure appropriate patient routing
- Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Delicate patient education regarding treatment plans and preventative care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow
- Monitor vital signs and interpret diagnostic test results
- Respond to critical situations following established emergency protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas (TX RN)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency room or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficient in EHR systems (experience with Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and triage protocols
- Spanish bilingualism strongly preferred
