Responsibilities

  • Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support under the supervision of RNs.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
  • Patient Communication: Build trusting relationships with patients and families, providing emotional support and clear communication regarding patient status.
  • Hygiene & Safety: Ensure patient rooms and personal spaces are clean, organized, and safe from hazards at all times.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, charts, and incident reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with Procedures: Support nursing staff with wound care, catheter care, and other medical procedures as directed.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist in maintaining a calm environment.

Qualifications

  • Active CNA License: Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant license in the State of Texas.
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods; ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
