Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support under the supervision of RNs.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
- Patient Communication: Build trusting relationships with patients and families, providing emotional support and clear communication regarding patient status.
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure patient rooms and personal spaces are clean, organized, and safe from hazards at all times.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, charts, and incident reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with Procedures: Support nursing staff with wound care, catheter care, and other medical procedures as directed.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist in maintaining a calm environment.
Qualifications
- Active CNA License: Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant license in the State of Texas.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods; ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Compassion: A genuine passion for patient care and a commitment to the highest standards of healthcare.
- Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
