Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates) accurately.
- Assist patients with mobility, including transferring to and from beds, wheelchairs, and walkers.
- Implement and adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team and family members regarding patient conditions and needs.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and nutritional needs.
- Document all care activities and patient observations in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Nebraska CNA certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds safely and consistently.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a strong desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
