The Role:
As our Weekend Medical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a seamless experience from check-in to check-out. You will work closely with our physicians to deliver high-quality care to our diverse patient population in Dallas.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify insurance, and prepare them for examinations with warmth and professionalism.
- Clinical Duties: Administer injections, perform venipuncture/phlebotomy, and assist providers with minor procedures.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
- Testing: Perform EKGs, spirometry, and basic lab tests as directed by the provider.
- Administrative: Update and maintain patient medical records in the EMR system, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Inventory: Monitor and restock exam rooms, supplies, and medication carts for the weekend shifts.
- Communication: Relay clear instructions to patients regarding follow-up care and medication.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with current CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification.
- License: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications (ACLS required for providers with cardiac duties).
- Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience in a physician practice or urgent care setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) software and computer operations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Reliability: Proven ability to work weekends and holidays with a high level of accountability.
