In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring their visit is smooth, comfortable, and efficient. You will work closely with our providers to deliver high-quality clinical and administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient vitals (blood pressure, weight, height) and medical history assessments accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all medical equipment is sterilized and ready for patient use.
- Assist providers with minor procedures, examinations, and administer injections/immunizations as directed.
- Manage patient intake, verify insurance information, and document all encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Coordinate lab specimen collection and transport, including phlebotomy when necessary.
- Answer patient phone inquiries and provide general health education.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and clinic safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a primary care or urgent care environment.
- Strong proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) software systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays as required by the schedule.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
