Responsibilities
- Prepare Patients: Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations by reviewing medical history and current symptoms.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform routine clinical tasks including taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate), administering injections, drawing blood (phlebotomy), and performing EKGs as directed.
- Provider Assistance: Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and accurate documentation of findings.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient intake, schedule appointments, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Lab Services: Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to the lab.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock examination rooms, medical supplies, and medications to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekend shifts (Saturday and/or Sunday).
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in phlebotomy and EKG procedures.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
