Responsibilities
- Perform patient intakes, including taking vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) and recording medical history.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean, safe environment for patients.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers, strictly following safety protocols.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, refill requests, and referral processing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families to explain procedures and ensure high satisfaction scores.
Qualifications
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or similar credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in an outpatient or urgent care environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) software is preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when assisting patients.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
