Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Obtain vital signs, complete patient intake, and prepare patients for examination by providers.
- Administrative Support: Manage electronic health records (EHR), schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
- Lab Duties: Collect and process blood samples and other lab specimens according to strict safety protocols.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurses with medical procedures and patient education.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients and families regarding care plans and instructions.
- Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Skills: Proficient in computer systems and electronic medical records software.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule.
