Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments in strict accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient progress, lab results, and care interventions in electronic health records (EHR).
- Education: Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and discharge instructions.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical situations within the unit.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Technical Skills: Strong computer proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and ability to adapt to new technology.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed for patient care.
