Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 98% accuracy
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage details
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through effective communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Utilize Epic and NextGen software for coding and billing procedures
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and AR metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure complete documentation
- Stay updated on CPT/ICD-10 coding changes and industry regulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and CMS guidelines
- Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for patient and insurer interactions
- Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or related field
