Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile equipment and ensure proper disposal of biohazard materials
- Verify patient identities and prepare samples for analysis
- Document procedures in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Provide exceptional patient care during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely sample processing
Qualifications
- Current Florida Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and safety standards
- CPR certification (BLS) from American Heart Association
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
