Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA protocols
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Verify patient identification and prepare samples for testing
- Document procedures in electronic health records (EHR)
- Provide patient education during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with lab staff for sample prioritization
Qualifications
- Active Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or AMT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience
- Texas state phlebotomy license
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic/EMR preferred)
- Exceptional venipuncture skills on diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication and empathy skills
