Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen processing
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
- Operate and maintain lab equipment per SOPs
- Verify patient identification and test requisition details
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with clinical team for seamless patient flow
- Document procedures and maintain accurate records
Qualifications
- Active Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP/ASPT or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital/lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Valid DC healthcare worker permit
