Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure aseptic technique throughout surgeries
- Count and document surgical instruments and supplies before/after procedures
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and monitor vital signs
- Operate surgical equipment including endoscopic cameras and robotic systems
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in surgical tech role
- Current BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance standards
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and on-call
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Alaska state surgical tech license or eligibility
