Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone and in-person patient assessments using standardized triage protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize patient acuity and determine appropriate care pathways
- Document clinical encounters accurately in EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear patient education on home care instructions and follow-up protocols
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care with specialists, social workers, and ancillary departments
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for emergency department operations
- Maintain calm demeanor during high-pressure situations while ensuring patient safety
Qualifications
- Active NYS RN license (or willingness to obtain during training)
- BSN degree preferred; ADN candidates with 1+ years clinical experience considered
- Strong assessment skills with ability to recognize subtle clinical changes
- Excellent communication skills for diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in electronic health record documentation
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to completing our 12-week paid training program
- BLS certification required (ACLS/PALS preferred)
