Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for all procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with instrument passing and wound exposure
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and sterilization protocols
- Inventory and restock operating room supplies
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document case details in electronic health records
- Train new staff on surgical equipment and protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years of OR experience in Level 1 trauma center
- Knowledge of specialty instruments (orthopedic, neuro, cardiac)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to stand 8+ hours and lift 50+ lbs
- Experience with electronic documentation systems (EPIC preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover weekends and on-call shifts
