Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize emergency cases using established triage protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Monitor patient vital signs and initiate emergency interventions when necessary
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental process enhancements
Qualifications
- Current North Carolina RN license (or compact license with NC residency)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in Epic or comparable EHR systems
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
