Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and alleviate anxiety to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Label, log, and prepare blood samples for transport to the laboratory for analysis.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Manage inventory of supplies, including needles, vials, and tourniquets.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and lab technicians to ensure accurate and timely results.
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) or certification in progress from an accredited institution.
- Valid State of Texas license or certification as required.
- Previous clinical experience is preferred but entry-level candidates with strong training are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, professional demeanor when interacting with patients.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and electronic health record (EHR) management.
