Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure compliance
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them correctly
- Document procedures accurately and maintain equipment sterilization logs
- Collaborate with surgical teams to anticipate procedural needs
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in general surgery
- BLS/CPR certification with current renewal
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols and OSHA regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
