Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, to ensure our clients' daily hygiene needs are met with the utmost respect and dignity.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and cleaning to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Administer medication reminders and track daily health logs accurately as directed by the supervising nurse or physician.
- Foster emotional well-being through active listening, companionship, and engaging conversation to alleviate feelings of isolation.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, and community events, ensuring safe transportation and assistance as needed.
- Monitor and report any changes in a client's physical condition or behavior to the care management team immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required; a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or PCA (Patient Care Assistant) certification is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping the elderly or disabled population.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for travel to client homes.
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain certification upon hire.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks, such as assisting with transfers, with proper body mechanics.
