Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Provide timely medication reminders and assist with medication administration as directed by a nurse.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation, play games, and provide emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.
- Meal Assistance: Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning tasks, such as laundry, dishwashing, and tidying up the living space.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery stores, or social outings as needed.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and report changes in the client's condition to the on-call nurse or case manager.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a CNA, PCA, or Home Health Aide is preferred but not always required.
- License: Valid Illinois Driver's License and reliable transportation required.
- Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification is mandatory.
- Background: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: A genuine, patient, and caring demeanor towards the elderly and individuals with disabilities.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
