Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identity and prepare all required documentation for lab tests and specimen types.
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and CLIA safety protocols at all times.
- Handle, process, and transport blood specimens to the laboratory efficiently and safely.
- Interact professionally with patients, explaining procedures clearly to alleviate anxiety.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized phlebotomy station and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Technician (PT) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and venipuncture techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional overtime.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
