Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital sign assessment and medical history documentation
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and diagnostic examinations
- Administer medications and injections under physician supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Coordinate patient flow and exam room preparation
- Perform basic laboratory tests and specimen processing
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- Current certification as Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Tennessee state medical assistant license
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
