Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
- Provide basic bedside care and support to patients, helping them move, walk, or transfer safely from beds to wheelchairs.
- Administer medications as directed by licensed nurses, ensuring accurate dosages and documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, including proper infection control procedures and sanitization.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
Qualifications
- Current Kentucky Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 6 months of recent acute care or long-term care experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
