Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient intake, including vitals, weight, and height measurements, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures, demonstrating a strong understanding of clinical workflows.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and manage inventory of medical supplies.
- Administer injections and medications as prescribed by healthcare providers, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, updating electronic health records (EHR), and processing insurance claims.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding test results and follow-up care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CMAA) from an accredited institution is required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician office or outpatient setting preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and valid Tennessee State Medical Assistant license.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, such as Epic or AthenaHealth.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting patients or equipment.
