Responsibilities
- Patient Assistance: Provide direct care to patients by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Mobility Support: Safely transfer and transport patients using appropriate equipment and techniques to prevent injury.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status, changes in condition, and concerns to the nursing staff and physicians.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs in compliance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Hygiene Maintenance: Ensure patients maintain a clean, comfortable, and dignified environment.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist in basic life support (BLS) procedures as directed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Massachusetts State CNA Certification required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate bedside manner.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods and work in various environments.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills for electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
