Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a dignified and respectful manner.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any missed doses or side effects to the supervising nurse.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation, read aloud, play games, and provide emotional support to reduce isolation.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals based on dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, including laundry and light cleaning.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Take and record blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as directed.
- Transportation: Provide safe and reliable transportation to medical appointments and social outings.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred; CNA or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in home care, nursing, or elderly care is highly desirable.
- License: Valid Driver’s License and current, insurable vehicle.
- Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; good physical stamina.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Background: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
