Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rates.
- Assist patients with mobility, transferring, and ambulation using proper body mechanics.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Document patient care activities, changes in patient condition, and incidents accurately.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
Qualifications
- Current and valid New York State (NYS) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
