Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Observe and report changes in patient health status, including vital signs and symptoms, to the nursing staff immediately.
- Personal Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Hygiene Support: Ensure patients are clean, comfortable, and have their linens changed regularly.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities, intake/output, and changes in condition in the electronic health record.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff.
- Assistance: Support nurses with procedures and transport patients safely within the facility.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassion: Genuine compassion and patience for patients of all ages.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions precisely and maintain strict confidentiality.
