Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury.
- Communicate changes in patient condition, mood, or behavior to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, ensuring all medical equipment is sanitized and organized.
- Document patient care plans and progress notes in electronic medical records (EMR) as required by facility policy.
Qualifications
- Current and active CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license in the state of Texas required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or home health setting is preferred but not always required for urgent hires.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient dignity and quality of care.
