Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their personal hygiene and comfort.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Regularly check and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Provide Personal Care: Support patients with mobility, transferring them from beds to chairs, and providing wheelchair assistance as needed.
- Emotional Support: Offer companionship and a listening ear to patients, reducing feelings of isolation and anxiety.
- Assist with Nutrition: Aid patients with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring dietary intake.
- Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients, following infection control protocols strictly.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required. Current state CNA certification is preferred, but we offer sponsorship and training for enthusiastic candidates with no experience.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Compassion: A genuine desire to help others and the ability to demonstrate patience and empathy in stressful situations.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks as part of patient care.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail in observing patient conditions and reporting incidents accurately.
- Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and computer systems.
