Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with treatment plans and medical procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Document patient data and changes in condition accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients to improve their overall quality of life.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the state of Missouri.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS preferred but not always required for entry-level).
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or home health setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Physical stamina to lift, move, and assist patients safely.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing patient needs.
