Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist licensed nursing staff with wound care, ambulation, and transfers to ensure patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team regarding patient status and needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in strict accordance with health and safety protocols.
- Document all care activities and changes in patient condition promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing with the state of Maryland.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control standards.
