Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Patient Monitoring: Observe and report changes in patient behavior, physical condition, and emotional status to the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patients maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment at all times.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Assistance with Procedures: Support nursing staff with basic medical procedures and documentation as directed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Texas.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Genuine compassion and a desire to help patients improve their quality of life.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed (up to 50 lbs).
