Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, transferring them safely between bed and wheelchair or using walkers and canes.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs, ensuring proper nutrition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Florida required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs when assisting patients.
- High school diploma or GED required.
